23rd Street Pedestrian Bridge

Owner: City of Tulsa

System: Dry Shotcrete

Completed: April, 1998

This project, though bid in the summer, was delayed until January before construction was able to be started. Since closing the pedestrian bridge created a re-routing of many students from the adjacent elementary school, safety and public accomodation was a high priority. This uniquely designed bridge showed ugly spalls and corrosion stains. Repairs restored its shape and integrity, and the paint and cementitious coating offered protection for the years to come. This bridge, after completion, was a welcomed improvement to the community.
