Owner: Mayes County Commissioners
System: Underwater Grouting
Since constructed in 1922, water flowing around the footing on pier # 2 caused scouring damage under the footing. Underwater inspection brought concerns that repairs should be made to restore the structural integrity. A repair design consisting of underwater placement of +/- 6” aggregate placed prior to the pumping of cementitious grout with “anti-washout” admixture into pipes placed around the footing at the scour locations. Work was performed using divers and a crew placed on a barge in the water.
